Why does this window pop up?
When the Symantec Endpoint Protection Cloud (SEPC) agent is installed on a Mac and the below message appears, it means that SEPC would like to know if the service trying to use the port listed should be allowed or denied:
What can I do about it?
You can select from a list of options to allow or deny the service access to the port specified on the Mac. If you do not want this prompt to continue displaying after rebooting, then the "Always take this action" option can be checked and saved.
What if this window keeps popping up even after I have told SEPC to always take this action?
If after selecting the "Always take this action" check box and pressing the "Save" button does not appear to save this setting after subsequent reboots of the operating system, then the following command can be entered into the Mac Terminal:
nortonsettings disable autosetup
Once the above information has been input, the <Enter> button can be pressed. There should be a slight pause before the next Terminal line is displayed.
This should cause the SEPC service prompts to no longer appear on the Mac.
*Note*-PLEASE CONTACT SUPPORT IF THIS ISSUE HAS OCCURRED AS WE ARE CURRENTLY TRYING TO RESOLVE THIS.
How do I access the Terminal?
In order to access the Terminal, the below method can be used:
1. Press the "Launchpad" icon located by default towards the bottom left of the OSX dock.
2. Press the "Other" icon.
3. Press the "Terminal" icon.
How do I make the prompt come back?
In order to bring back the SEPC firewall service prompts the following command can be entered into the Mac Terminal:
nortonsettings enable autosetup
Once the above information has been input, the <Enter> button can be pressed. There should be a slight pause before the next Terminal line is displayed.
This should cause the SEPC service prompts reappear on the Mac.
